Boy do we have a treat for you on this final installment of "10 things I wish I had known before building an MMO", in celebration of EverQuest's 10th anniversary. You may remember today's contributor from a recent artist spotlight. Kevin Burns is back to give us his retrospectively awesome list and share some priceless knowledge (and laughs) with any aspiring MMO developers out there. As the days tick down towards the 16th, we're making preparations for that final day's contest. More details will be given on Friday, but you can count on it being worth the wait. Make sure to continue after the cut for Kevin Burns' extensive top 10 list and check out our complete countdown coverage thus far.

The always witty and rambunctious Syp of the WAAAGH! Blog recently had a chance to chat with Warhammer Online Producer, Josh Drescher. Josh took time out of his busy schedule to give some insight behind Mythic's patching process, stance on official forum moderation, and how they try to achieve class balance. Don't be surprised to see another monster patch rivalling that of 1.2 in the future, but expect many smaller patches as well. Their only patching philosophy is not wanting to follow a defined patching schedule because doing so can lead to all kinds quality of issues.

While there are a bunch of great podcasts out there covering lots of different MMO games, we're always glad to see a new, promising show join the group. One such show that we've recently latched on to here at the Massively offices is LOTROcast, which is a mid-length, bi-weekly Lord of the Rings Online podcast put out by Moormur. While there are still a few technical bugs that need to be worked out in regards to formatting, for three shows thus far, it's proving to be well worth the listen.

If you've been following along with the site, you may remember a story we ran on a brand new Zork game, and the press release that told us that it was to be a casual MMO. In fact, we believe the exact sentence was "designed to provide gamers with a casual MMO game they can play on their laptop, desktop or Apple iPhone (in school, work or on the bus)."
